Good Friday feast kicks off Canned Food UK’s latest campaign with CANbassador, Theo Michaels

Canned Food UK (CFUK), run by the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association, kicks off its new campaign with Theo Michaels with his first exclusive recipe just in time for Good Friday.

“With Easter just around the corner, we’re delighted to kick off our new campaign with CANbassador, Theo Michaels, award winning author and TV chef, with his latest recipe of herb crusted cod on smoky butterbeans,” comments Jason Galley, Director and Chief Executive, Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association.

The first of five new dishes, Theo will be sharing recipes that utilise classic canned store cupboard ingredients which require minimal preparation and for some, utilise the latest kitchen must-have, air fryers.

At Easter, it’s traditional to eat fish on Good Friday and Theo’s latest recipe makes a nutritious, tasty feast for all the family, plus by using the air fryer it’s quick and easy to do – just eight minutes cooking time.

“This dish really elevates the cod loin with an aromatic herb crust on a bed of smoky canned butter beans with canned cherry tomatoes laced with garlic, honey, olive oil and paprika,” adds Theo.

“And the best part – there is virtually no washing up. All parts are layered within one oven-safe baking dish which is placed within the air fryer. It’s also the exact same cooking time for a fan oven. So, you can enjoy time with the family on Good Friday knowing that the washing-up is all but taken care of!”

This is the first recipe of a new series which will also include duck breast with prune masala dressing on potato cubes; sweet and sticky Mongolian chicken thighs; loaded wedges tray bake and overnight oats with prunes, honey or peaches and coconut. Each will be shared on the CFUK social media channels. This is Theo’s third year as CFUK’s CANbassador following successful campaigns celebrating King’s Coronation and ‘Around the World’, championing international cuisines.
